Children had a great time throughout the day.

Who:

  • Over 100 patients, family members, friends and professionals
  • 23 children
  • Attendees from 12 states

What:

  • Blessings-in-Disguise family panel answering questions about their own care and family experiences
  • Team Panel answering specific questions about team and specialist’s care
  • Small-group discussions focusing on specific developmental issues throughout childhood and adolescence, as well as special-interest, round-table discussions including Genetics and Craniofacial Issues, Managing Speech Development and Therapy Decisions and, Insurance and Craniofacial Care
  • Children’s programming including visits from six therapy dogs, music, movies, art exploration, and kids’ yoga

How:

  • 9 ACPA members — Cassy Aspinall, Kerry Callahan Mandulak, Paula Goldenberg, David Jones, Debbie Oliver, Earl Seaver, Peter Spalding, Marilyn Cohen, Don LaRossa – served as faculty and consultants
  • More than a dozen graduate-student volunteers from NSSLHA organizations at both Temple University and LaSalle University supported children’s care and activities throughout the day
