Miscellaneous Cleft and Craniofacial Related Support Organizations

The American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) is the world’s largest organization representing specialists who treat the ear, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck. The Academy represents more than 12,000 otolaryngologist—head and neck surgeons who diagnose and treat disorders of those areas.

The mission of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons is to promote, protect and advance oral and maxillofacial surgery to assure excellence for surgeons and their patients. AAOMS represents more than 9,000 oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the United States, and supports its members’ ability to practice their specialty through education, research, and advocacy.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) is the largest plastic surgery specialty organization in the world. Founded in 1931, the society is composed of board-certified plastic surgeons who perform cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. The mission of ASPS is to advance quality care to plastic surgery patients by encouraging high standards of training, ethics, physician practice and research in plastic surgery.

A lactation specialist website, with a video ‘Mauro, Yes He Can’, which follows a little boy born with a unilateral cleft lip and palate from birth to age two. The video observes the family during a prenatal consultation with their cleft palate clinic. This video is translated into eight different languages.

Free school curriculum designed to establish a classroom climate that reduces bullying, teasing, and violence. Founded by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul, and Mary. Curriculum options are Grades 2-5, Grades 6-8, and camps/after-school programs.
